The Forest of Rossendale Bridleways Association was started in 1980 by a small group of riders who were concerned about the lack of bridleways in the valley. We are affiliated to the British Horse Society, Access Rossendale and the National Federation Of Bridleway Associations.

The Forest of Rossendale is a beautiful place, called the golden valley, from Bacup in the East to Haslingden in the West, and from Stonefold in the North to the Southern most tip, Ramsbottom. In all 53 square miles of beauty, and 25+ miles of recognised horse riding trails, plus lots of undefined riding routes.
One of the most exciting developments for years has been the creation of the Pennine Bridleway, a 205 mile bridleway stretching from Derbyshire to Cumbria, with the 47 miles circular Mary Towneley Loop on our doorstep.
The bridleway is a national asset that FORBA members will make much use of.

What do we do?
Over the years the Forest Of Rossendale Bridleway Association (FORBA) has run a wide range of activities.
